Friuli Venezia - Giulia

The Province of Gorizia is a province in the Friuli–Venezia Giulia region and it is made of a total of 25 comuni. It is situated right near the sea coast, which is almost 50 km. long. What's interesting about this province is the ethnic diversity, Gorizia being situated right on the border with Slovenia. The province of Gorizia is also characterized by beautiful landscapes, the Grado lagoon, the two nature reserves - Valle Cavanata and Foce dell'Isonzo - and many small towns and villages make this region a place visitors will not soon forget.

The Province of Pordenone is situated in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and it is made of 51 comuni, each characterized by ethnic diversity, just like all the other provinces of this region. The province itself is very beautiful, Pordenone being famous for its beautiful mountains, hills and valleys, but for the modern ski resorts, characteristic towns and wildlife areas as well. The prehistoric site of Palù della Santissima, along with the small Sacile village are two important Italian tourist attractions, but visitors cannot miss the many medieval castles, villas or Cathedrals, all part of Pordenone's charm.

The Province of Trieste, the capital province of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, is made of only 6 comunes, but it is yet another one of the beautiful areas of Italy. With more than 48 km. of coast line, Trieste is popular among seaside vacationers who wish to enjoy Italy's sandy beaches. There are many tourist attractions in Trieste, the Carsiana Botanical Garden, the Rosandra Valley, the Giant Cave, the castles of Duino and Miramare, the Sistiana Bay and the list can go on. Of course, one cannot avoid visiting some of the small villages in the Karstic plateau, famous for their stone houses and local wines and traditional Italian cuisine.

The Province of Udine is situated in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and it has a total of 137 comuni. Bordering both Austria and Slovenia, the province of Udine is a very ethnically diverse area. Udine is very popular among tourists, who often visit the beach at Lignano Sabbiadoro or the ski resorts in the Alps. One of the largest woods in Europe is here, the Tarviso Forest being famous for the wide variety of flora and fauna. History and cultural heritage also characterize this province, the Aquileia archaeological site, the Cividade del Friuli and Palmanova are just a few of the main sights of Udine.
