Trieste

The Province of Trieste, the capital province of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, is made of only 6 comunes, but it is yet another one of the beautiful areas of Italy. With more than 48 km. of coast line, Trieste is popular among seaside vacationers who wish to enjoy Italy's sandy beaches. There are many tourist attractions in Trieste, the Carsiana Botanical Garden, the Rosandra Valley, the Giant Cave, the castles of Duino and Miramare, the Sistiana Bay and the list can go on. Of course, one cannot avoid visiting some of the small villages in the Karstic plateau, famous for their stone houses and local wines and traditional Italian cuisine.
