Udine

The Province of Udine is situated in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and it has a total of 137 comuni. Bordering both Austria and Slovenia, the province of Udine is a very ethnically diverse area. Udine is very popular among tourists, who often visit the beach at Lignano Sabbiadoro or the ski resorts in the Alps. One of the largest woods in Europe is here, the Tarviso Forest being famous for the wide variety of flora and fauna. History and cultural heritage also characterize this province, the Aquileia archaeological site, the Cividade del Friuli and Palmanova are just a few of the main sights of Udine.
