Has anyone tried a grandma slice? Basically the cheese and sauce are switched. It is usually on a Sicilian type of bread. It is very good! I suggest you order it next time you are at a pizzeria. However, I know many places don't always make it.

My favorite used to be pizza margherita, but since I ditched all animal products, I really enjoy pizza marinara. If you never tried it, it's pizza with tomato sauce, garlic, olive oil and oregano/basil. It's absolutely delicious! Also, calzone stuffed with all kinds of vegetables and vegan cheese is absolutely amazing.
I've never seen that on the menu anywhere - but I'm curious now! Always nice to try something different. I wonder how it originated?! Maybe someone was making pizzas and just forgot to put the sauce on, and then thought "oh - I'll just add it to the top!"
I am a vegetarian so I like to experiment with a lot of different toppings. I tried the one with pineapple and peas and it was a strange but nice combination. Margherita is my favourite because it is a basic recipe and you can play with it adding some other ingredients. Sometimes I make one with tomato sauce, cheese and olives. But a lot of olives. I like simplicity in food. Mushrooms are also one of my favourite toppings for pizza. Basically pizza is one of my favourite dishes.
