The Mosaics Of Ravenna

Everyone keeps talking about the famous mosaics of Ravenna. How come I never heard of them? Why are they famous?
I have seen mosaics before, and yes they are interesting and kudos for who has the patience and talent to handcraft such a wonderful thing, but why are the ones in Ravenna so famous?

Well, because of that, that you said.. they are handcrafted and they are marvelous and really old.
It's like looking back into the past
Nothing compares these days with the patience people had in the past. What wonderful things they created. Now, we have technology and modern architecture and everything is not as fascinating as it used to be.
