Tourists Damaging The Colosseum.

You can see this at other famous monuments and statues all over the world. Go to paris and look at the Eiffel tower and you will see thousands of names and messages written and carved into it. Its quite sad really!
 
Wow, I guess that's what engraving the letter K into a stone in the Colosseum gets you. Or any other letter for that matter. I kind of like how strict the law in Italy is regarding vandalism. It probably takes a couple of 20.000 euro fines topped with several years behind bars for tourists to stop desecrating the holy sites of the Roman Empire.

I think the Eiffel tower thing isn't as bad as damaging the Colosseum. One is a monument THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD that carries so much history with it. Part of the reason it's so well-known is because it's so historical. The Eiffel tower is more well known as a symbol of Paris. It's romantic rather than rude to carve your name on it, in my opinion.
