Petrol - Diesel fuel
For years in Italy, diesel has always been much cheaper than petrol. Over the last six months I've seen the price of diesel slowly rising to the price of petrol. This morning on my drive to work i noticed that diesel now costs exactly the same as petrol. (€1.48 a litre)
Now a diesel car will do more KM to a litre than a petrol car but you end up paying in other ways as diesel engines tend to be bigger in size which means higher insurance and higher bolle fees.
It really depends on how many KM's you drive to see if there is a saving in having a diesel vehicle.
