Pasta Or Risotto?

I am a big time pasta fan. I absolutely love it. I like to experiement and try new adaptations all the time. I like risotto but It can be difficult to perfect so we don't have it as often. My kids love pasta as well so that makes it all the better. Keep the pasta coming.

Maderia wine is quite rich and is red, but you can use just about any one I imagine depending on your taste. the wine adds to the stock and gives the risotto body. I would say arborio rice is the best and the easiest to find as the rice will hold the sauce and stock better. I hope you try it, but make a small amount first as you need to stir it all the time ad add stock gradually.

Actually you misspelled it lol. Sorry for correcting you, but I am from Portugal and it's Madeira's wine because it's from Madeira island, the place where Cristiano Ronaldo was born. :) Great for sauces, I can confirm it, and to drink as well. :D

I generally prefer pasta, because the places near me cannot make risotto to save their lives. There is how ever, a place closer to my Aunt's home, that makes an amazing lemon chicken and risotto dish. The risotto is nice and creamy and the lemon is light and tangy. It's very good! But pasta is generally the safer option, not to mention, cheaper!

I would definitely choose risotto :) Trust me I really really love my pasta - of any kind! But give me a delicious mushroom Risotto and I will be in my own little heaven for hours :)

To entertain an entire family I would just say go with pasta. I wish I could cook risotto, but I cannot. :p I mean, I can cook, but only my sisters would be enjoying them. Pasta is like, for everyone. For the time being. So, really, if I had to choose between the two, I would just recommend cooking several types of pasta.

I prefer pasta over risotto. I have always been more of a pasta fan than a rice fan. Risotto has to be made just right for me to enjoy it. I like chicken parmigiana, chicken Alfredo, and chicken carbonara.

The "fascination" for me regarding risotto comes from the fact that it's something not very common here in my country. We eat rice, not risotto, so I like the texture and the flavors that the risotto comes impregnated with. ;)

I actually enjoy making and eating both. My favorite risotto's gotta be the classic mushroom and favorite pasta dish is carbonara for sure. I'm pretty sure the traditional way of making it is just eggs, bacon and parmesan, so when I see restaurants adding cream or whatever, it disappoints me a bit. I'm halfway around the world from Italy though so can't complain.

Definitely pasta, any day. I've never really been a fan of risotto, and I enjoy every single type of pasta I've tried till date. I have rice quite often anyway, so if I were to go out to an Italian restaurant, I'd rather have what I rarely get to eat.

Pasta of course. I'm not a real fan about risotto but if I have the chance I would pick of course pasta. The risotto is quite good and I love it mixed with carrots.

If I had to pick one over the other, I'd say pasta. But I do love a good risotto too - I'm just not as good at making risotto myself as I am making pasta.

It's one of those things that it just depends on what I'm craving!

I don’t eat a lot of pasta at home so whenever I go to a restaurant I always order it. I like pasta so much better then Risotto. You can never go wrong with a good homemade pasta in a red sauce, pesto or in oil and garlic.

I eat pasta most days and risotto every so often. Risotto Mantovano is our local version which includes small pieces of sausage meat. I highly recommend it if you have never tried it before.
