One of my favorite Italian cooking shows is Lidia's Italian - American Kitchen with Lidia Bastianich. I watched an episode the other day with my husband. She had her grandmother on and had us both laughing at their frankness. To tell you the truth, I can not even remember what they were cooking, but we were drooling. lol Another good show is with Mary Ann Esposito. Pretty sure, both ladies are featured on PBS. We are living a new lifestyle with no cable, amazing all the channels on can get with antenna TV. Got to love PBS and these Italian cooks!
 
Thanks for this tip. I've heard of people adding sugar to their sauce but I've never tried it. I usually add some wine instead. There are so many great tips you can learn from living with an Italian cook. I always learn something new when I go visit my elder aunts. They love telling me about all their cooking secrets, hoping they will stay in the family.
