I keep thinking that I should buy a small tent, a barbecue and 2 sleeping bags (1 for my girlfriend) and start looking for adventure.
Have you ever been camping in Italy? Is it safe? What should I know first before choosing a random location?
Roberto, Luca is right. It's safe, as long as you camp in official camping parks.
I found a few of these camping sites myself, in Northern Italy. They are a lot cheaper than a hotel and if you're young enough, 100% comfort is not a priority
The cost of a night at a camping spot is about 10 Euros, depending on the area. You can park your car there too. I'm not sure if you can bring a pet (do you have a pet?), but you can ask first.
Another cheap option would be renting a bungalow. It's small and cute and you get to sleep in a bed.
