Freshly Made Pasta

After all these years I have to admit I still haven't tried freshly-made pasta. Or rather, if I have had it I didn't know the difference. I think it's time to do my own 'Pepsi challenge' just to make sure that I can fully appreciate it.

It is definitely worth your while to get the pasta machine and make fresh tagliatelle, lasagna, cannelloni, etc. While it's a lot of work, it is so much better than store bought pasta (even those that are labelled pasta al'uovo, which basically means pasta made with egg).

Just make sure that you have enough space for all the pasta to dry as you will want to make large batches at a time as they will go very fast. :D

I could only imagine the great taste of fresh pasta. It would be better than the box stuff that is in the grocery stores. I guess that best way is to buy a nice pasta maker and get create.

Its a hell of a difference in the taste. Fresh pasta just tastes that much better and yummier. Ofcourse its a little extra work, but i think the bigger chain stores sell ready made fresh pasta.

Just remember home made pasta is easier to overcook than dry pasta.
You should start tasting after the first five minutes.

I remember just last week, I stumbled upon a post on Reddit that linked to a video of a man who worked in a bakery and decided to travel to Italy as an apprentice for a renown pasta maker. Making pasta is a tradition that goes back for centuries, and this skill can be considered an art form in itself. It is nice to see that even in a day of microwavable dinners, there are still people who continue to uphold these old techniques and find enjoyment in them.

I think someone should share a recipe to make pasta at home, and we can compare our results :)

I have bought fresh pasta but have always longed to make my own. Does it really taste that much better than the dried pasta? Is it difficult to make, and do you need to buy a special machine?
It does taste better and you feel so much better knowing you made it yourself, I always used to think that people that made their own pasta from scratch were just smug, until I did it myself and then I was smug, so I get it now.

I've never made homemade pasta but I've eaten it at friends' houses. I definitely think it makes a difference. You can just taste the difference between homemade and store bought. It is so much fresher and tastes like it is better quality. I heard it is pretty simple too. I don't eat a lot of pasta at my home other wise I would make it from scratch.
