Do You Get Mad About Football Too?

Could not have said it better myself sir. Except maybe that soldiers should not exist in the first place. I would not pay someone to kill someone if you know what I mean...

I don't mind their salary. What annoys me the most is all the theatrical diving and pretending to be hurt for some reason. It is so common it's almost like a developed skill or something. Terrible...

Come play hockey or rugby :D

To be perfectly fair, hockey and rugby players both have protective gear so it takes a lot more for them to get hurt. Rugby is also a turn based sport, so it's easier to see if there has been a fowl (plus the fowls themselves are easier to recognize than those in football). Yes, part of the reason there's so much theatrics in football is because they want a fowl called. However, it's also because football is very fast paced, referees often can't see if a player was tripped unless he goes down.

There are dives for sure, but there are also lots of missed fowls

Yes definitely. Football is a great game. However there are certain times when you just can't help but get mad about players or teams. Unlike other sports, soccer genuinely needs a lot of patience. For instance, it has a very wide playing field and lots of players so scoring isn't that easy. Add to the fact that there are times when the weather joins in. Also this game is anyone's game. The enemy team can still win even if their 3 or 4 points down.

I think it boils down to competition and rivalries that have existed for years. It is not easy to forget old rivalries, and in my opinion, they make games significantly more interesting. When I watch football with my friends, we tend to put wagers on teams that we believe to win. Not large amounts of money, but enough to buy a few slices of pizza. I think that makes watching games even more enjoyable and competitive. Rivalries only add to the enjoyment people get from following the sport.

I wouldn't say that I get mad at football matches but I have found myself going "what the f-" at the tv before when my team is playing stupidly or getting so close to a goal and then missing. If the match is really energetic and fun then I can really get into a game. I'm usually not a huge fan of sports but I really like football for some reason.

I am a football fan but never get worked up over it, it's really not the end of the world if my team loses. Some people get depressed, angry and even violent over it. These people need to get a sense of priority, there are far more important things going on in the world than football.

I know the Italians are very passionate about football and Italian football has provided the world with some great entertainment. Here in the UK football is taken far too seriously, every move on the pitch is analysed, if a goal is disallowed or a player is sent off it is discussed for weeks, it can actually get quite boring. Like everything it all comes down to money, the players are paid crazy amounts of money and the teams who win everything are the ones with all the money. Football has little to do with sport these days.

You need to understand that football is like religion to Italians. It's not simply a sport and if you take it too lightly, you won't even be considered a fan. A true fan should exhibit turbulent emotions that sometimes might look like they border with insanity from the point of an unbiased observer. It's a phenomenon that can't really be explained but simply accepted as it is. I guess it brings people with similar interests more closely together.

Football as always been a big part of my life and I'm definitely passionate about Manchester city. I was born and brought up a city fan, it was instilled into me from an early age and it does affect my mood what result we get. Some people find that a bit sad but if its what your passionate about then I don't see it that way.
