A Typical Italian Breakfast

What is a typical Italian breakfast? Is it pastries and coffee? Or are there things served like eggs and meat?

Funny, I think I know a lot of Italian foods but I supposed I do not know what a traditional breakfast food would be!
Usually a typical Italian breakfast is Coffee and a Pastry, or my Father would also toast a nice piece of Italian Bread and dip it in his Coffee. On the more hearty side of things, we also had Hot Italian Sausage, Eggs, and Italian Toast. :)

Mmm, toasted bread dipped in coffee and milk is delicious, so it seems I have something in common with Italian breakfasts, as I too have that habit! Sausage and eggs for breakfast is too much for me, too heavy, except if I am in a hotel, in that case I eat as much as I can and I might skip lunch! :D

Most Italians will have a brioche with coffee for their breakfast. (cappuccino, latte or macchiato).

However, I much prefer something more saltier so I always have a brioche salato:

Brioche is great too, but apparently those have ham and vegetables inside? Not my cup of tea, I prefer jut butter, or butter and cheese, and certainly nothing green, as it doesn't go along with milk! I am wondering about Italian pastry, how good is it?
