I'm planning a trip with my hubby and we would like to find somewhere that is not so tourist filled. Is there an awesome place you've been but hasn't been highly advertised?

Sicily! Go to Sicily. They've got ancient cities like Noto, Ragusa, Syracusa, among many others, which are all enchanting. Spring is probably the best time (in my opinion) because you will see the desert in bloom. You can also go to Infiorata di Noto which is held in May but I supposed the city would be filled with tourists. Summer time is also wonderful as you get to feast on Sicilian bounties. My first time to go to Sicily was in summer of 2009. I had the best time.

It guess it all depends on what part of Italy you wish to visit? (north, center or south)

Sicily is a great choice as suggested by Siciliana but if you prefer to stay in mainland then I would suggest the Puglia region.
