Sondrio

The Province of Sondrio is situated in the Lombardy region of Italy, it is formed out of 78 total comuni and it has a population of about 200,000 inhabitants. The province borders Switzerland to the North and to the West and it lies exactly in the heart of the Alpines. Vineyards are what best characterize this region, but lots of artistic treasures are to be found here as well. Elegant buildings, narrow streets, old city centres and only part of Sondrio's charm. Many castles and towers, as well as sanctuaries and ski resorts are visited by many tourists every year.
