Parma

The Province of Parma is situated in the Emilia Romagna region and it is made up of 47 comuni. It is very famous for the traditional cuisine, the Prosciutto di Parma, sausage production and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese being very popular in Italy and in all Europe. Besides the Italian gastronomic traditions, Parma is well known for the beautiful landscapes as well, Lake Santo Parmense, the largest natural lake in the Emilia Romagna region being situated in this province. Many castles, palaces and Italian historical buildings make Parma an interesting place to visit as well, the Ducal Palace, the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace in the city of Parma are among the most representative.
