Marche

The region Marche, located in Central Italy, is divided into 5 provinces: Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Macerata, Pesaro e Urbino. Marche is overall a hilly region, but the river valleys and narrow coastal area characterize the region as well. Many summer vacation resorts are visited every year by tourists, but so are the National and Regional nature reserves, oases and caves, the Frasassi Caves being quite famous in Europe. The Marche region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with many historical monuments, and also a famous Italian pilgrimage destination, because of the many Medieval Churches, Cathedrals and Sanctuaries.

Ancona

The province of Ancona is the capital of the Marche region, expanding from the coast of the Adriatic Sea to the Apennines, with the relief becoming gradually higher moving towards the mountains. There are 49 comuni forming the province, some of them famous for being crowded during the summer season, as many tourist resorts are found here in the province. The city of Ancona, capital of the province, is very interestingly split into two parts: the modern part on the sea coast and the historic center, in the heart of the city. Main monuments include: the Cathedral of San Ciriaco, the National Archaeological Museum of The Marches and Trajan's Arch.

Ascoli Piceno

The Province of Ascoli Piceno is situated in the Marche region and it is made of 33 comuni. It is the southernmost province in the region, its relief consist of mountainous areas and the sea coast, with many orchards and cultivated fields in between. many seaside towns are found here, San Benedetto del Tronto, Grottammare, Cupra Marittima, each being visited by both Italian and foreign tourists. From a touristic point of view, Ascoli Piceno is a city of Italian traditions, culture and more. Cathedrals, museums, theaters are only a few of the main sites this province has to offer.

Fermo

The Province of Fermo is part of the region Marche, in Italy. The province was founded in 2009, having the city of Fermo as the capital and a total of 40 comuni forming the province. The territory is very rich in archaeological relics, medieval churches and abbeys, palaces and so on. The coastline is worth mentioning as well, the beaches are filled with pine trees, making Fermo a very interesting place to spend a nice vacation. There are lots of things to do here, from sightseeing to riding your bike on one of the cycling trails in the territory. In the province of Fermo, you always find something interesting to do.

Macerata

The Province of Macerata, situated in the region of Marche, has a total of 57 comuni and it is characterized by beauty. nature is found all around the province, mountains, hills, woods, it's all here. Macerata itself sits on a hill at more than 1,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by parks, gardens and beautiful landscapes. The most visited town in the Macerata province is probably, Tolentino, famous for the many tourist attractions but the beaches of Civitanova Marche make no exception.

Pesaro And Urbino

The Province of Pesaro and Urbino is made out of 60 comuni and it is part of the Marche region, in Italy. Pesaro and Urbino is also called the Riviera delle Colline (English: Riviera of the Hills), thanks to the sandy beaches, romantic places and so much more in Gabicce Mare, one of the towns in the province of Pesaro e Urbino. There is much more to be seen in the province though, the Ceramics Museum is one of the main attractions of the area. Painting galleries, churches, towers and so much more are characteristic to the province of Pesaro e Urbine.
