Here's a question :)
Why did you decide to move to Italy?

Was it because of work? Some choose to move around with their families when they find a good and rewarding job.

Was it because you simply liked the country? It's possible, I guess, to fall in love with a country and then move there.

What made you decide to start your life in Italy?

I started off by visiting Italy twice a year for holidays as the weather is much better here than the UK. I got to make many new friends in Italy and after 7 years I decided that I would like to live in Italy. After planning and saving for a year, I quit everything in London to start a new life here.

I had a good job in London so work was not my reason for coming here.

Obviously I have to support myself in Italy so I found a job and have been there ever since.

Chillout, it sounds like you made the move from the UK to Italy in a perfectly timed way. Did you learn a fair amount of the language during your visits/planning period?

Good for you Chillout. I don't know that it would be easy leaving a good job to move to another country and start all over again. I think it is great that you started by visiting and making friends, I imagine that probably gave you a comfort level in moving there.
