Luckily we get Sky Italia here in France and I can't wait for Masterchef every Thursday! Anyone else watching? I love the American Masterchef as well but the Italian one is much more interesting for me. Mainly I like hearing all of Joe Bastianich's Italian errors and how he will suddenly switch to a heavy American accent mid sentence if he happens to say an English word. It's very jarring. Not that my Italian is super perfect but it's rare to see other Americans speaking Italian at a high level, especially on TV. It gives me comfort that someone at his level still makes mistakes. I also love X-factor and hearing Mika speak Italian. If anyone watched last years and compared it to this year he really improved a lot! Anyway, back to Masterchef, this is season is kind of strange because everyone seems really close. Any guesses on who will win?

I'm impressed that the Masterchef franchise has also reached Italy! I guess if I spoke some Italian it would be good to watch, but unfortunately I'm lacking on that front. But it would be good to see Italian cooking interpretations of different dishes. And at least that version doesn't have Gordon Ramsey flouncing about!

I am not a fan of the show and I did watch a few of them but I think that watching any reality tv show in South Africa is very lame. I did watch the Gordon Ramsey kids masterchef and wow what a different person he is when he is with kids, also do those kids really cook like that> cant believe it!

My fathers girlfriend is obsessed with cooking shows, so I have seen quite a few episodes of MasterChef! ;) And Hells Kitchen. And Chopped. And Kitchen Nightmares. She's literally got the Food Network on almost constantly.

MasterChef is an ok show and it's big with popularity. I see Italy has it's own version ready to go also. In order fro this show to be good, it must have a host with personality and style, otherwise, it'll be a boring show. I think this fits in well for Italy as it has some of the best cuisines.

Yeah I love Masterchef, do you guys get the junior version too?

Yes there was one season of junior Masterchef in Italy recently. Joe's mom was the main judge/host.

Masterchef isn't new to Italy, We are currently on the fourth season. I like it more than the U.S. version. Besides Joe, the two other judges are really interesting and make the show more real than the fake drama on the U.S. version. The contestants seem like normal people too. Italian satellite TV also broadcasts the India, Australian, and French versions.

I think the Australian version is the best. It's more about the food than the drama aspect

I do love it a lot, however I wouldn't say that I'm obsessed with it. Its a great show to watch, the food is amazing, the people that go on are definitely in for the challenge and normally do good under pressure, and the judges are great cooks and own good restaurants them self so the people are getting good training from the best. However I'm not too obsessed lol.

Having been a certified foodie for the longest time. I regularly watch the Masterchef series. Chef's in the show display tremendous amount of heart and talent. The outputs are mouth watering and captivating. Sometimes I just wish I was the one to taste the food. Would probably be the death of me.

I must have been living under a rock because I didn't know Joe was on Italian Masterchef. I didn't even know there was Italian Masterchef. I've been watching US Masterchef for years. Joe isn't my favorite judge though. Gordon Ramsay actually is, despicable I know.

I don't think obsessed is the right word, but the show is very good and I watch it whenever I get a new season. I think that the three chefs make a great team and the environment created is really entertaining, a great show.
