Italy
I was wondering if you listen to italian music and in that case, who is your favourite singer? I love italian music and it's very hard for me to pick just one singer. I like rock music and I grew up listening to Ligabue, Vasco Rossi and Carmen Consoli and I love them all even now, after several years, although I tend to prefer their older music.
Growing up I started to appreciate Renato Zero, he is a very charismatic person and his lyrics are beyond beautiful, he writes very meaningful songs and his concerts are memorable.
On the other hand, I can't stand Laura Pausini. I know she's very famous all over the world but I can't bring myself to like her songs.
What about you?

There's also Andrea Bocelli. The blind one. He lost his sight long ago while playing football. However, he didn't give up on his life due to the disability and managed to find himself a niche in music. I respect him so much!

My favorite singer is probably Caparezza. He's a pretty famous rap singer in Italy and what I love the most about his songs are his lyrics because they're so well thought out, funny and smart at the same time. :)

Artyarson, I like Andrea Bocelli, he sure can sing! But I don't like Eros Ramazzotti, I used to like him when I was a kid but now I think he should retire. His music and his lyrics are getting boring and repetitive.
Ishmael, I like Caparezza too! He's a very good singer and I love his lyrics, they are sarcastic, smart, funny and irreverent. People tend to underestimate him because they stop at his looks and the rhythm of his songs without bothering to listen carefully to the lyrics.

Did you guys know that a famous/notorious politician Silvio Berlusconi has two studio albums as a singer-songwriter? As far as I remember, they were released back in his 20s or, maybe, 30s.

One of the things I really do not like about Italy is the modern music. I have no idea about any singer right now that comes from Italy. Okay, I actually know two. Eros and Nek. Can you imagine? NEK. That one song was very good really but that is everything I have on Italian music. Older music is always my cup of tea so traditional music is very good. Of course classical as well.

I like old school stuff like Pupo (Enzo Ghinazzi), my favorite song of his is "Su di noi", I also like the group Richi e Poveri, I also like Albano & Romina Power. For more modern stuff I like Jovanotti a lot, the song "Bella" in particular I think is a beautiful song. I used to like Laura Pausini a lot, but she kind of disappeared a few years ago, I think she is still active and performing in Latin America, not sure about that. I don't know much more about the modern stuff, I kinda grew up liking the music that I used to hear as a kid at home.
