We don't really hear much about Silvio and his numerous court appearances here in the UK. We occasionally get little tit-bits about the "bunga bunga" parties but no really serious coverage. What's the latest? Has he been found guilty and will he appeal yet again, or just delay it until the time limit expires?

The opinions of the people I've talked with vary. It's not like I wanted to talk about the guy, but he's all over the news and everyone seems to have an opinion on the matter.
The latest "gossip" is that the girl who has or hasn't had relations with him is now denying hew own statements. First she says she did it, now she changed her mind, who knows what she'll come up with next!
Rumor has it that more than 400,000 euros went in the girl's pockets in the form of jewelry, clothes and whatever else she wanted. I just can't understand why... why would Berlusconi throw away such large sums of money for a girl, what makes her so special anyway?

It's the old adage of "money talks" and, given that he has so much of it, he has managed to bribe his way out of all the trouble he found himself in over the years. He now thinks that he is above the law, and it would appear that he is. I doubt that he will ever really be brought to justice and he's too old to go to prison now. In Italy I believe they don't send people over 70 to jail.
