What's the economic situation like in Italy? Have things improved at all lately? Allegedly there has been growth here in the UK, but it isn't apparent, it's just what 's reported in the news and that may be government spin!

As I see it, things are going from bad to worse. This isn't a general rule though, some companies are doing quite good, others are failing.

When I say things are going worse, I mean I keep seeing how shops are closing, factories are going broke and closing, work agencies have too many clients but too few jobs to offer them and so on. If you're not among the best in your field, it's likely you'll end up starving if you don't find anything to work.

The unemployment rate in April 2011 was of 7.7% and since then, it keep on rising. In April 2013, Italy had an unemployment rate of 12%. That is A LOT. It's better than Greece or Spain or other countries, but it's bad enough, if you's ask me.

Personally, I do not listen to what the news media says as most of it is spin. @Rosie made some good points above and the sad fact is that many companies are still closing.

The companies that are doing well are only doing well because they are strong and because they have gained more clients from the companies that have closed down.

Those who are in work have had workloads increased with the same amount of staff. Those that are unemployed will probably stay unemployed for quite some time as there seems to be no growth meaning no new jobs being created.

In all, a very sad situation and we all hope that there will be some light at the end of the tunnel soon as this #crisis has been going on for far too long. :)

It sounds as though the whole world is in a bad state, not just Europe! I have friends and family in the USA and they say exactly the same things about their economy!
