In our house our favorite holiday dessert is Pitta Piata (Pitta Mpigliata) a traditional Calabrian treat my Grandmother used to make every holiday season. :)Growing up I used to love going to my Grandmothers house when my aunts and her were gathered in the kitchen making these delicious pastery filled rings that are filled with walnuts and raisins

Although my Grandma has been gone for quite some time now, my family and I try to keep the traditions alive throughout the years. How about all of you? What is your favorite holiday dessert? Or your families traditional dessert?:)

This is pretty frustrating for me because no matter how much I want to express my love for the desserts, I can never spell them correctly. Some are Danish and others are Polish, and if I try it comes out Kleiner and Puncheets, but I know that is not correct.

I'm in love with an Italian dessert called Tiramisu which means" pick me up". I first learned about it when I was in Italy and I loved it. I asked for the recipe and made it for my family and they too liked it. It has been the tradition in my family to prepare this dessert every holiday.

Italian ice creams are the best, some are really simple, but have that particular twist that make them taste better. Some have sugar on top to make them even more delicious. I've also eaten Nutella pizza with strawberries and let me tell you it's an unforgettable experience! :D
