What Foreign Dishes Do The Italians Like?

Obviously a lot of people on this forum like Italian food in all its varieties, but I've never really known what foreign foods that Italians like.

So what kind of foods have the Italians embraced? The British, for example, have particularly embraced all types of South Asian curries, and a lot of that's down to its colonial legacy. But do the Italians have an equivalent dynamic?
 
Italian colonies were in east africa, but finding east african food as zighinì or injera is uncommon in Italy.

Main categories of ethnic food are kebab, then more kebab, then japanese restaurants run by chinese, then wannabe american-south american steakhouses run by italians. Here and there you can find some indian strangely run by real indians.

Official fancy food in Italy is sushi.

OMG! This is so funny! Because it's true! :cool::D

From what I personally saw, Italians don't often eat kebab... there is one opened at every corner, they spring up like mushrooms after the rain! But most of their customers are foreigners, too few Italians. Maybe young Italians... but few nonetheless.

As far as Chinese /Japanese restaurants go, there was a time when almost every single Italian was skeptical :D Also, there were rumors that they serve bad food or some foods/specialty that can hurt you (there was even a singer who died while eating at a Chinese restaurant, but they cleared the story up afterwards, it was NOT because of the food!).
Now, you can barely find a free table at lunch or dinner time!
 
That's quite interesting. It's as if the foreign food there isn't authentic or isn't that exciting. At the same time, the local food is of a very high quality.
 
What happens with kebab places is a couple owners with better public relations skill take all the customers and the rest is left empty.
