What is everyone cooking for Christmas? My family typically does the 7 fishes on Christmas Eve. We don't eat any meat on that day, only fish, veggies and pasta.

Do you have any special traditions?

Christmas comes later in my country. It is on seventh of January but nevertheless we will have a dinner. Usual food for that day is roasted pork because of the big fasting period before Christmas. We will have several pies, traditionally with cheese, spinach and cheese, sauerkraut and potato. Several salads, very strong ones with mayonnaise. A lot of grill stuff. Burgers, chicken breasts, etc. However, I am a vegetarian and I find that setting a bit disturbing so I will make something else.

This year I spent Christmas with my in laws and it was a typical Christmas feast for our country. Turkey, ham, lots of vegetable dishes, mashed potatoes, gravy, bread rolls - it's actually much the same food that we serve at Thanksgiving, too. For dessert we usually have some sort of cake or pies. We had both this year to choose from but I had cake. We also bake and decorate sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles as a bit of a family tradition. Everyone loves it, from the kids to the kids at heart!!
