Tv Licence Added To Electricy Bill

From January 1st 2016, the government claim that the TV licence fee will be inserted into every residential electricity bill.

With just two months to go, there seems to be very little information about the new system. I checked the RAI website and there seems to be no information there either?

What are your thoughts?

This is the first time I've heard about this idea, and my first thoughts are if it's being added to everyone's electricity bill, what happens if you don't have a TV? Would you get a rebate of some sort?

I'm also surprised that more hasn't been made of this either considering like you say, its only a couple of months away.

Seems that there has been an update on the current status of the TV Licence:

It will be added to the electricity bill and they will divide the €100 (reduced from €113) fee into 10 instalments.
