I'd just found this article on the Guardian ( http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/22/italy-beachclub-drones-rescue-swimmers ) and I just had to share it.

Apparently, there's one luxurious resort in Tuscany that will use drones this summer to make the job of lifeguards easier - they'll be used to rescue swimmers.

How do you feel about this? Would you trust a machine? Would you trust a machine would save your child? Younger brother/sister? Apparently, these drones can be used to, I quote, "transport life jackets and communicate with distressed swimmers from the shore", unquote. I am really not sure about this. Something can always happen, right?

They also plan on using drones to locate sharks. I believe this is more realistic. Sure, why not? If shark attacks can be prevented in any way, it would really be good to have it happen.

Any thoughts?

It could be done. A few months back Amazon was reported to be using drones to deliver goods ordered from their website. What was the reason for that use of drone? For business, efficient delivery, faster delivery time, or something like that. The idea just seems to be like, something from a Jimmy Neutron animation. It sounds like they're still in development stage, these drones.
