Yesterday, at around 6am, a 4.2 earthquake hit the Lake Garda area.

No Major damage has been reported.(just a few cracks) However, people have been warned to remain calm and alert. A second smaller quake at 2.4 on the richter was reported just a few hours later at around 08:10.

This morning at around 5am a further quake of 2.7 hit the same area. No new damage has been reported.

I am rather alarmed at the number of erthquakes occurring around the world. We don't hear about a lot of them and I know that 4.2 isn't huge but I don't recall seeing this in my newspaper!

There are many small earthquakes every day as most of the country is in seismic territory. Not many people think about it too much as the big ones thankfully do not strike often.

Here is a good site to see all registered quakes that happen on Italian territory.
