i have an oldish car and the number plates on the car are becoming a bit worn (mainly from the sun).

As far as I’m aware, it’s not possible to repair them and they must be replaced. Has anyone been through the process?

Ok, so I went to a local agency that handles these kind of requests, and they issued two new plates on the spot.
I had to remove the old ones and hand deliver them in return for the new ones. They then issued a new Libretto on the spot and I was good to go.

It was not cheap, €240 euros to be precise, but it saved me a lot of time and hassle.

One last thing, I had to call up my insurance company to inform them of the new plate number.
