Popular food in Italy

In the Philippines, we would eat rice all the time. I know that some of you would raise an eyebrow about this but this is what we really eat here. So what do Italians eat all the time?

I would not raise an eyebrow to that as in Italy we eat pasta / rice (risotto) every day too.

Be it pasta, spagetti, gnocchi or risotto. (all produced in Italy)

To complement the above tomatoes would be the most used vegetable as it's used to make many different sauces. There are hundreds of dishes you can make with pasta.

Not forgetting the extra virgin olive oil that seems to be a daily thing too.

I have an idea about Pasta, it is supposed to be the most popular dish in Italy. Whenever we go to a restaurant where Italian cuisine is served we do ask for pasta. To be true we love pasta Italian style.

You'll find other topics here talking about Italian food, all of which serve to make me one hungry reader. I adore pasta, especially spaghetti, so just seeing its name gets my mouth watering.

Machida, in the United States many people also eat rice every day. My first husband didn't feel like he was having a meal unless he had a side of rice. He would also have rice for breakfast sometimes with sugar and butter.

Sometimes we eat rice whether we want to or not. Back in college, one of my roommates was from Christmas Island, meaning she was Chinese. Whenever it was her week to cook, every meal we had centered around rice! I had enough to last forever. ;}

Ha ha, that's what we have ramen noodles for! I could write a cookbook with all the recipes I have concocted to keep myself and my palate sane!

One of the greatest prides of the Italians is their food. The major meal in Italy is eaten in the middle of the day. Large meals always consist of many courses. The Italians may have a pasta course followed by a course of fish or meat. The foods of Italy are greatly varied, depending on which region you are in. For example, ribbon-shaped pastas are the most popular in the northern region of Italy. In the southern region of Italy, macaroni with tomato sauce is the most popular and favorite pasta. Risotto, which means rice dish with vegetables, is a first course, as well. Pizza is also a popular food in Italy. Wine is served with every meal other than breakfast.

Pasta, rice and pizza are my first 3 guesses.
I personally get hungry after a plate of pasta but Italians are so proud when they have pasta for lunch!
Pizza is also among their top choices, it's yummy and you can order it whenever you want. There are places where the pizza is both great tasting and cheap!
As far as rice goes, there are so many recipes you can cook with rice! The rice salad (risotto) is the most popular though, at least I think so.
