Pizza Crust/Types

Growing up, all I knew what the regular pizza crust. Now in America we have all kinds of crust, including stuffed. I don't really want stuffed. The thing that makes pizza great for me as an adult is having it done pan style. What's your preference?

This is quite an intersting topic as i have never heard of stuffed crust - Can you explain some more about this? In Italy, there is a difference between the north and south in regards to the thickness of the pizza base but in general those are the two different types. In the north where i live the base is very thin and crispy but in the south the pizza base in slightly smaller but is a bit higher.

You can ask for a 'pizza tirata' which usually means that the base is streched even bigger giving you a much larger pizza and more topping but using the same amount of dough.

Please explain more about the different type of bases on offer in the U.S?

I'm originally from England and when i was living there the two different types availble seem to be thin or thick crust but things could of changed as it's been many years since i last had a pizza there.

A stuffed crust has the crust hollowed out and something else put inside. Usually, it's cheese, but they are starting to put other things there now too. So that end crust is more of a big bite of cheese and crust. Hand tossed is making a comeback, trying to be a sign of Italy. So crust wise, it's regular thin based, hand tossed, stuffed crust, and pan. I may be forgetting but if I do, I'll add more later.

If I am not wrong whether the toppings can be considered as the stuffed pizzas. Since I am started eating pizzas, I have taken many types and the most I loved to eat is Margarita, Four seasons.
