What names do Italians give to their daughters. I'm Looking for classic female Italian names and not foreign ones.

Suggestions?

Type nomi italiani femminili on google, choose some name, and write the ones you like, we will tell you if they're too old, or too strange, or too common, and so on...

Hmm.. there are some names that to me seem pretty common. I mean, I know at least two women with those names, not to mention I heard it a lot anyway.

One of those names is ELENA. It's an Italian name, but there are a few countries where this name is also used.
PATRIZIA is also very common. I actually know 3 women named Patrizia.
ILARIA is also a good name, I've heard is a few times and I even like it.
MARIA-ROSA, no explanation needed....
BARBARA is also common, although I find that it isn't exactly fit for a little girl, but that's just my opinion,

I can't think of any more names right now, but these are pretty common, as I see it.

Here are a few that I know who have this name:

Daniela, Francesca, Roberta, Nadia, Lara, Monica, Giulia, Simona, Sonia, Silvia, Teresa, Grazia, Anna, Cristina, Federica, Stefania, Elisa, Elisabetta, Michela, Cecilia, Morena, Chiara, Eloisa, Morena, Manuela, Donatella, Rossella, Marzia, Claudia and Stefania.

Here are a few more:
Vincenzia, Vittoria, Guila, Maria, Rosa, Syliva, Silvanna, Givionna and Graziella.
A lot of male names are changed into female names by changing the O or E to an A. For example:
Vittorio - Vittoria
Vincenzo - Vincenza
Mario - Maria
Danielle - Daniella

Some of the popular names include
Aria meaning someone who is melodious.
Isabella meaning 'beautiful'.
Carina meaning 'little darling'
Caterina meaning 'pure'
Chiara meaning 'light'
Aida meaning 'happy'
Alegra meaning 'joyful'
Angelica meaning 'angelic'
Humiliana meaning 'humble'

There are quite a few really beautiful names here, I am sure you can find something you like. I find the meaning of a name extremely important because that is what people will be confessing every time they say the name. I would want them to say something good over my child. I like the sound of Isabella and Alessandra.

While I searched for Italian girl names I was quite disheartened. The way the majority of the names were spelled it seemed like most of Italian women were named after their father, this is never a good thing. The only difference is that there is an "a" usually at the end of their name with that being said, here are my picks. Priscilla, even though I'm sure that it is way too common I've always loved this name on a girl. Prissy always seemed like a cute nickname I wanted my girlfriend to have. Enza, its short but I have the feeling that it is a strong and unique name. Finally Quentilia, I am unsure if Ia m even spelling this right, but I'm hearing "Quent-ill-lyah," in my head as I read it. It sounds so pretty, I would Quentilia as a name for my daughter if I was of Italian.

You really have lots of suggestions. Out of what you've mentioned, i would recommend some of them like Daniela, Sonia, Cecilia and Claudia. They sound so original and very Italian.

I will suggest you 'Alberta'. It sounds really sweet. It means 'bright'. You can also name the girl 'Alessia', it means defender. Well, there are 100s of names out there but, these two are my favourite.

I have a very common name, Maria Grazia. I don't mind it but I think there a lot of prettier names than ine for italian girls. I must confess that I've never heard of some of the names posted above, like Humiliana and Kara (same goes for Karina) are spelled with a C instead of a K but they are not very common anyway.
Some of my favorite names for italian girls are:
Bianca (it literally means "white" as the color, to portray beauty and purity)
Adele (it means noble-looking)
Ramona (I have no idea about what it means ;D)
Giada (it means Jade)
Irene (it means peace)

I can refer you some beautiful names for an Italian girl such as
Dorotea (Gift of God)
Elettra (Bright)
Elma (Protector)
Gioconda (Happy)
Among all these names, Elma is my favourite. :)
