Does anyone frequent modern art museums in Italy during their travels there? Or if you live there, do you often visit miseums that display modern art? I haven't been to a lot of them, but I would say that my favorite is the Museo D'arte Moderna, also known as the MAMBO, in Bologna.

I love this museum because even though the outside of the building has somewhat of a historically traditional feel, I love how the inside is the definition of modern art. It reminds me of being in the movies it's so picture-perfect the way they display all of the work. I love how the hallways are set up as well, they also really give you a modern-feel along with the artwork.

Italy has a substantial number of modern art museums to match its museums of classic treasures. Here are a few in the major cities that are worth checking out:

Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice
Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Rome
MAXXI – National Museum of the 21st Century Arts, Rome
Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, Rome
Galleria Comunale d'Arte Moderna, Rome, Rome
Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea, Milan
