Miss Italia 2015. The Finalists

Oh dear. There's not really a lot to say is there after that. The 1942 comment wasn't all that clever either to be honest, and she's not started well.

Then again, she's won a contest for being beautiful, and she is certainly that, well, in my opinion anyway, the competition wasn't for being a mastermind so I think the criticism she's getting is a little harsh.

Yeah I think at the end of the day, she's only 18 years old - we all probably said some silly or 'foot in mouth' type comments then. We live and we learn. It's a lot of exposure and pressure for someone that young to be getting, basically being thrust into the limelight and having cameras on her and the media dissecting every single statement that comes out of her mouth. It would be tough. Like you said, it's a beauty pageant, not the Nobel prize for physics that she's being judged in! :)

Exactly, and its just a shame that the media continue to do what they do best and take a person that as won something and as she should be enjoying her 15 minutes of fame, try and take that away by posting only negative stories and spoiling it for her.

At the end of the day, her comments aren't offensive and they do nobody any harm, I'm sure we've all got friends that come out with silly comments or questions and it leaves us wondering how they've ever managed to get through life, but in a fun and jokey way, we don't sit there and ridicule them, and especially not publicly.

The girl should be left alone to enjoy what she's won, and it makes you think if there's not maybe a hint of jealousy in there as I'm sure the reporters who take great pleasure in ridiculing her, would never be able to win a beauty contest, that's for sure.

We don't get to see much of whats happening in Italy from here and the only tv channel that we have is RAI television. It doesn't really show much of what is current. We had a Miss ITALY South Africa competition here a few years ago and wondered what happened to it. Apparently the girls were entered into Miss Italy in Italy but we never heard anything more, does this happen?

Its difficult being a beauty queen and it is nice to see that sometimes it is an intellectual thing too. Miss Universe pageants and even watching the other ones, sometimes makes the girls seem a little light headed! It is about time that they asked questions that can have real answers that are not predictable to winning

Sometimes the questions they ask at these beauty pageants are a little predictable and down right embarrassing sometimes.

It's as if they are making fun of themselves by asking them in the first place, and the questions are set up to make the models seem airheaded when I bet a lot of them actually aren't.

Yes always predictable and it is the answer everyone expects to hear. They need to surprise them with a question and forget about the how I would change the world one, give them questions that need a spontaneous answer so that you can see possible strength.
