How many people eat linguine? It is without a doubt my favorite food to eat. I like the thickness of the noodles compare to other pasta products.

Linguine is nice, but I haven't had in for a while. When it comes to noodle-like pasta, tagliatelle is my favourite. I prefer linguine to spaghetti though. :)

I enjoy eating linguine because of the texture. It's like a spaghetti but thicker, which makes for that chewy consistency that I like. I really like it with clam sauce but my children aren't fond of it, so it is rarely made at my house.

One child likes spaghetti and the other likes the thicker rigatoni or penne. I make linguine, which is a bit of both textures, so that they will both eat it.

I agree with you about the texture. It gives you a much fuller taste and feeling than spaghetti, although spaghetti is still very excellent.

I love it, but most dishes I cook or order in a restaurant aren't made with linguine. It's often plain spegethi or angel hair pasta noodles I use.

I too like linguine but I prefer fettuccini. I think it is the thickness of the noodles for me too.

Of course one of my favorite dishes is fettuccine Alfredo! Yum!!! I also make a pretty good spaghetti - if I may say so myself - with Italian sausage and spaghetti sauce. It isn't fancy but my son and husband eat it up! :)

In our house we also eat gluten free pasta because my daughter is gluten intolerant. It is hard to find good gluten free pasta - and even harder to find gluten free linguine! I haven't found one yet!

Linguine is probably one of my favorite pasta's as well. I like it better because of the obvious thickness that it has.

Probably one of the favorite dishes that I make is a Creamy Chicken Linguine. I make the linguine noodles as normal and boil some chicken breasts and season. Then the best part is making the homemade Alfredo sauce! I used to use Alfredo sauce out of the jar until I tried to make my own. It changed my life forever! :) Mix it all together and it is easily the best Italian dish I have made!

The only problem is I always seem to make too much for just me and my wife so we generally eat on it for about a week. Maybe next time I will invite some friends over. Anyone want to join? ;)

You make that much pasta, it lasts for a week?? Wow!

When cooking linguine or spaghetti, I like to make this tomato sauce, with mushrooms and/or minced meat, basil and some oregano. Sometimes pesto, when I'm out of spices. It's delicious!

Oh, my secret to not cook too much pasta is, I weigh it first :P
The general "rule" is that the amount of pasta you decide to boil will triple it's quantity. So, I usually use 40-50 grams of pasta per portion, this way the serving will have 150 grams of pasta, plus the sauce on top.

That's a great idea to weigh the pasta first! I'll have to give that a shot.

We normally like to cook enough to have leftovers for a day or two, but it always seems like our pasta dishes last a whole lot longer than that. I think I don't take into consideration the pasta increasing in size when it boils and the amount of chicken and sauce used. I tend to just make sure we have enough of everything for a couple days, but when you have three main ingredients, a couple days turns into six easily once you put it all together :)

The good thing is that we enjoy pasta enough to eat it for a whole week. The bad thing is, once that week is done, we don't feel like eating pasta for several weeks because we are burned out on it. I guess finding that balance will just take some practice.

Thanks for the helpful suggestion! :)

I like linguine, and to be honest, I'm not too picky about any of my pastas. With that being said, I think fettucini is my favorite! With chicken and white sauce... mmmm... not a lot better than that, if you ask me!

I love that too! Fettuccine Alfredo is what I call it - with chicken. Do you call it Alfredo? :). I actually prefer mine without the chicken. For some reason I feel like the chicken gets in the way of the other flavors. Lol! Weird, I know!

I have to agree that I will eat anything with pasta. I always gravitate towards pasta dishes. Maybe it is because pasta is comforting.

I also really love pasta salad with fresh veggies like cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, asparagus cut into little pieces and then drenched with a Italian dressing! Yum! I am making myself so hungry!!

Linguine is one of my favorites. My husband's favorite is rigatoni and my children penne or spaghettini. I will eat most pasta, but prefer linguine and lasagna. Linguine is chewy and has more texture than spaghetti.

Have you tired buying online from the Celiac Society? Amazon also have some options, surprisingly. I have only tried gluten free pasta once and found the texture quite challenging, but perhaps things have improved now.
