Has anyone ever paid the Bollo for their car after the expiry date?

I don't believe there is a fine of such if the local police stop you for a roadside check as they never usually ask about the Bollo.

I have heard that you pay interest on the due amount for every month that has passed.

Is this true?

Yes, it's true. It happened to me just last year :D

I literally forgot to pay it. I wanted to pay it a few weeks early (since I had the money and I remembered I have to pay that too) but the lady at the Tabacchi (that is where I pay it) told me you cannot pay it earlier. Well, as it happened, I forgot about it.

I payed the bollo a few weeks (3-4 weeks, almost a month) after the 'due date', and I payed exactly €2.36 as 'sanzioni' (interest).

I don't think it's a very big problem if you don't pay it in time, just that these interests gather up if you don't pay it after months and months.

I confirm, usually my sister forget to pay it until the next year she receive the fine :/
