For those of you have ever wondered what the translations are in English for the different types of Italian flour:

farina d'avena = oat flour
farina d'orzo = barley flour
farina da pane = bread flour
farina di grano = corn flour
farina di grano duro = durum wheat
farina di grano saraceno = cooking buckwheat
farina di riso = rice flour
farina di soia = soy flour
farina glutinata = gluten flour
farina integrale = wholewheat flour
farina per dolci = pastry flour
grano tenero = soft wheat or common wheat
fior di farina = superfine flour

If you can think of any others, please add them here.

Wow, thanks for providing 'the list'.
I actually look for some of these terms in the dictionary before I go shopping as I prefer not to use white flour all the time.
