Has anyone on here seen the movie, NINE? It was converted from a Broadway musical into a movie several years ago. I really loved it when it came out, both the music and locations where phenomenal! It's set in 1965 Italy, and such a good movie.

"Guido Contini is a gifted Italian filmmaker who, at the age of fifty, has developed writer's block and urges all the women in his life, alive and dead, to help him with it."

(Keep in mind that is a very basic plot summary.) It got mixed reviews, mostly due to the fact that while the music was amazing the plot was a bit shaky and a little threadbare. Some of the story didn't transfer to well from stage to silver screen. I love the movie all the same though!

So, has anyone also seen this movie? Would you like to see it? Do you think it's an accurate display of Italy in the 60's?

I have not seen Nine, but it sounds like something I would want to watch. I love period movies, particularly ones set in beautiful foreign lands like Italy. What locations in Italy does it portray?

It opens in Hotel Excelsior on the Via Veneto, which is the only recognizable location in the movie, and then moves to an unknown location in Italy. They did a lot of filming in London, but some of it also filmed in Italy, in the villages of Anzio and Sutri. They never really specify exactly where in Italy it's supposed to be, since the movie moves to multiple locations around the country. ;)

It's a really great movie! But I suggest looking up the synopsis. :D

The movie Nine were filled with beatiful female artists. What wowed me was seeeing them sing and dance. More adaptations should get made now, I think. There are so many brilliance around to explore. Viewers are comfortable with movie streams, thank to the internet.
