Google Street View In Venice

Awesome! :p
I knew everything was possible.
I actually first visited the new Google Maps (you know it's changed, right?) before I read the article.
They say that the guys already went to Venice and the images will be online at the end of the year.

I think this is a great initiative.
I discovered Google Maps' utility a while ago and I am constantly using the Street View feature, it's so helpful! I never "went" to Venice with Street View until today, but I did find a lot of places that the Google car couldn't reach, for instance in my town. Now they can "fix" it :)

I agree that the street view is really helpful. I have used it a few times to look at business address before visiting.

It's quite interesting to take a virtual tour of places before visiting and this will help people explore Venice in a new way.

That's a really great idea, it shows off the city in a unique and appropriate way. Love the idea of a "Google gondola" too - imagine going for a virtual gondola ride! Not as good as the real thing though, I would guess. :p

Nothing is as good as the real thing :)

I remember the first time I went to the seaside here in Italy and I took a virtual tour of the beaches using Google's Street View. It's true that it's a very useful tool and you virtually get to know the area (I found a beach once by guiding myself after the big statue near the beach statue in Chiavari) but nothing can compare to the real deal :)
