The Italian 'giro' is happening right now, lots of people on bikes are travelling around Italy! Isn't that cool? I've never seen anything like it, I have to check out the news sites to see when they are coming through my town as well!

I love cycling but find it a bit boring to watch on TV. However, I would love to do such a thing as the Giro d'Italia but in my time. Some really good scenery to take in.

Just a few days left and they will be arriving in Brescia.

Wow, Naples to Brescia, that's one long bike ride.

Cool! They have already passed through my town, missed the whole thing, oh well I'll catch them up next year :)
I sadly remember that last year or 2 years ago, one of them was too tired to ride his bike and crashed into a wall :| Awful way to go...

I have to agree with you Chillout - I like cycling (though not at those speeds or over that distance) but don't really enjoy spectating, especially in person as all you get to see is a big group whooshing past and then it's over! I guess that if you were a big fan and followed them along the route you would at least get to see the beautiful Italian scenery. ;)

Yeah, that would be great! I know they go past you quickly but at least I wanted to take a photo or two... how disappointing.
Can anyone join, by the way?

It's always nice to get a few photos of any event that passes through your town / city.

It looks like the 19th stage of the race has been cancelled due to bad weather. Strong winds and snow has fallen on some parts of the route. Snow in May?

I am not sure if anyone can join. I would presume it was for professionals only.
