Well, it seems they have suspended the Fluad flu shot in Italy, yesterday, after 3 people mysteriously died and it is believed their deaths had something to do with the vaccine.

This type of vaccine has been used for years, there were millions of doses used around the world. Now everyone is in shock, and I can understand why... A friend of mine, right after the news was presented on TV, said that she's mortified, her mother was just given the shot in the morning!

On a personal note, I have never in my life been vaccinated for the flu. I don't really see the point because it's not a deadly virus, it's the flu! If you treat it in time, it's gonna be fine.
I've seen people who had the flu, and while I agree that it's kinda horrible (symptoms are pretty awful, you have headaches, nausea, some even vomit a lot...), but after a while, it passes.

What's your take on this?
It's not just Italy that has to deal with this problem, this vaccine is available in other countries as well.
I wonder what's going to happen and how will this news affect people and their trust in certain medicines.

Actually, while many of my American acquaintances worry about Ebola, no one cares about the number of people that die each year of flu and pneumonia, many many many times that of Ebola in the whole course of human history. It is really important to get vaccinated. I feel like this is just a freak accident. If you look at the statistics for flu vaccines, they're honestly very safe. Keep your eyes peeled for updates, and if the vaccine does appear to cause deaths, then stay away.
