Since it is available to watch the weekly RAI programming on Rai Replay (but not the movies they air, most of the time), I like to check that out when I feel like practising my Italian. However, a lot of these shows seem very trivial -- while the culture shows sometimes leave me far behind in my comprehension.

Trivial can be fun, I guess, for simple practice, though I don't actually want to try all those shows to find something I actually like. What are some shows you like to watch on RAI(1,2,3,4, whichever) and why?

What exactly is Rai TV? and where can you access it? as one that's trying to learn more about the country I'd really like to see what TV shows they have, and what content their viewers get to see.

Don Matteo! I've been following that show for years now, since it started broadcasting, basically! It's about a priest in a small town in Umbria, and basically he always ends up helping solve crimes. Honestly, it can get a bit ridiculous because there's so much crime in such a tiny quiet town and because he's always the one solving everything before the Carabinieri do, but it's fun to watch. It has a little bit of everything, from lighthearted comedy to more angsty scenes.
I'd definitely recommend it.

Hahaha I love how so many cop and detective shows have no care about realism. In Bavaria, they have this cop show my bf loves -- and it is actually in a quite large area, but on the show there are only the one batch of cops patrolling around, like it would be a small village. So, quite the opposite of yours. XD
