As someone who bakes a lot, I have quite a few favorite Italian desserts. Tiramisu, Cannoli, Pandoro, Zeppole and ect. Italian desserts seem to be the very best kind. ;)

Whats your favorite Italian dessert?

Tiramisu, for sure! And then I like gelato, for every occasion. :) So many flavors! So smooth on the palate. So fresh. *dreamy sigh*

I'm a traditional, but I'll try something new if it's available and not overpriced, too!

I love Cannolis, at first I was kind of scared to have one. I'm not a real big fan of sweet cheeses and the idea of a desert cheese in a shell kinda put me off. I was out at dinner at a small italian bakery/cafe and she made me take a bite. To this day its probably my favorite desert.

oh my my cannoli has got to be my most favorite. I could eat that all day long, and never feel any types of way lol.

One of my favorite Italian desserts is gelato. Gelato has less fat and is very creamy It also has more of an intense flavor. I do enjoy getting authentic gelato instead of the store bought kind. I would love to take my family to Italy so we could enjoy this dessert.

I only like chocolate desserts so I would go for a dark chocolate gelato or torte. Ice cream in Italy is always good, rich and creamy, but I am usually so full after a meal I rarely eat desserts, but prefer to have a nice coffee and a chocolate biscuit. Other than that I look at the sweet trolley in a restaurant and pick whatever looks good and split it as I can never finish it all.

There is nothing like a good old tiramisu. Its so yummy and comforting. Id take it over any dessert any day

Tiramisu all the way. I remember eating it when I was little but didn't know its name back then. I would pester my parents for weeks afterwards telling them I wanted to have some more of "that dessert with the cocoa coating". Now that I'm older I know its name and try and make it every now and again. It doesn't always turn out the way I would want it to but it's still something to remind me of the great Italian cuisine and the best dessert of my childhood.

Spread your wings a little ladies. What about Krapfen? Have you not had these in Italy?
Would you like me to make a list of dolci?

Think i already told, but nothing beats chocolate salami with a glass of barolo chinato.
Second best: cantucci and passito wine ( or zibibbo, or vinsanto )

Thank you, Hermann. When I get back to Italy in April I will get some. Can't wait as this is something new to me and I am always ready to try 'new'.
