An Eataly store has just opened close to where I live. I had no idea what it was so I asked around, why the big fuss? Stores open and close every day, I was very curious about why is Eataly soooo important.
It seems that this food chain is one of those high quality food chains, with VERY expensive food, but VERY high quality. You'd have to leave money at the door, just so they'll let you enter ahahah
I've never actually been inside, it's not on my priority list (since I do my shopping at the "regular people" supermarket LOL) but I have looked for info online, out of curiosity.
The coffee I regularly buy costs about €1.50 a pack. Eataly sells it with €5.
Tomato sauce I buy: less than €1. These guys sell it for more than €3.
Spaghetti: normal price - about €1 /kg, Eataly - 5 times more expensive.
Anyway, I know they have stores opened all around the world (or at least, they plan to expand). Has anyone ever visited it? Is it really worth doing the shopping there?
