Digestive Drink

After eating out in Italy most of like to have a shot to help digest. Which do you do you prefer?

1) Amaro
2) Limoncello
3) Sorbetto
4) Other

Hi Chillout

By the time I've gone through the wine I don't have a problem with digestion!! So I haven't actually tried any of them.:o

Joy

ps enjoyed some nice home-made grappa though!!!

Since I always seem to be driving, and the other(s) want Vecchia Romagna, I stick to an extra caffe. They sleep, I don't!! Given a free choice, even not after a meal, I'll take a Caffe Sport (nowadays called a Borghetti, but the better barmen know what I mean when I ask for a Caffe Sport!) On the other hand, travelling, and staying in a hotel close to where I'm drinking, I am a sucker for sampling the most local amaro. I suspect sometimes they just have this bottle of something vile which they want to get rid of....!
And - a homemade nocino (walnut liqueur) - even an egg-spoonful can make me very daft.

I prefer Limoncello. I have to get that whenever I go out. I am just used to it, and my friends like that one alot too. It is so delicious.

a nice scoop of sorbetto end gelato to cool down on after eating is a must for me.

Thanks to God! I haven't the problem with digestion and I think that the nice glass of the red Italian wine is the best help for the digestion of the Italian meal. But I think that the most useful behaviour is not to overload the stomach with the meal.

would have say Sorbetto, very fond of the fruit ones seems to be the perfect top off after a great meal. I love to take my time and soak it all in,

I'd say...... water for me :D

Like @vlada above, I don't have problems with the digestions process and besides, I never eat too much. I used to, mainly when I went to my grandmas, but then realized that when I feel full, I should just stop, even if it means leaving some food on the plate.

However, I'm tempted to buy some lime sorbetto, just out of curiosity. Don't laugh at me!.. but I've never had any :D

You must try a Sorbetto al imone next time you go out ;)
In summer time it's usually served frozen :)

Sorbet for me too! I actually must be in the minority of people that doesn't care for limoncello! Everyone else I know seems to love it, but I'm just not the biggest fan!
