I know. I know their French. But I came across these divine ones with an Italian twist. They were filled with mozzarella and pesto. Oh it was divine

What? Where? Send me some I'll give you my home address! :D ahahah!!
Seriously though, they sound amazing! I've never even heard of this combination, let alone have one of this croissants!

It's true that croissants are French. Italians did 'borrow' them though, they are called "brioche" in Italy and I thought they are all meant to be eaten for breakfast, either simple (no filling, just some added sugar on top) or with jam, chocolate or cream filling.

In my home country, we sometimes made something similar to these croissants, with sweet cheese filling. Imagine ricotta cheese with sugar and just a hint of lemon zest. They are delicious! But I have yet to try these with mozzarella and pesto. They really sound good!

I never really thought that these mozzart-filled croissants were Italians' specialty, but I had the occassion to try one of these in my 2014 summer vacation; absolutely delicious, wherever you buy them from, really. However, I must also mention that the price is very exorbitant in most places (around $4 for an average-sized croissant!), but if you really want to try something new that could potentially impress you, go for it. If you ever get to visit Italy, put these croissants on your to-do list, too! :)

Eh, $4 for a delicious croissant that fills you up is a pretty good deal in my opinion, especially in Italy. Man, you're making me drool now, thanks a lot. If they're anything like the freshly baked croissants you get in Parisienne bakeries then I'd LOVE them

Just thought I'd leave my two cents for whoever considered eating one of these. Yeah, I know, $4 is a great deal, probably one of the best you can find in Italy, but compared to the financial possibilities of my country, it's quite expensive. But, you know, who can afford to visit Italy, can afford to have large pocket money, too, so I think I shouldn't have mentioned the price.
And, yeah, I can confirm it to you, they're approximately the same thing as the French croissants you already know.

Pesto and Mozzarella croissants??? Those are a thing??? I need to know!!! I've tried croissants with so many other fillings, but they were mainly sweet, and sometimes in the UK you get the same kind of croissant pastry topped with cheese, or sometimes hazelnuts or something. I love mozzarella, pesto and croissants... I wish they sold those in the UK.

Mozzarella and pesto are two of my favorite foods, but I'd never thought about the pairing of them with a croissant until now! I have no doubt it would be delicious - the flaky, buttery pastry and then the added bonus of mozzarella and pesto sounds excellent. I've actually taken to making my own pesto this summer as we have an abundance of basil in our garden - it's SO good home made!

I've been recently trying home made pesto at home - it's even fresher when it's home made! Mozzarella and pesto is actually an incredible combination - they go together really well in grilled sandwiches. The local sandwich store does a mozzarella, pesto and tomato grilled sandwich. It's absolutely delicious.
