This made the news. Fast food is gaining popularity in international Milan. Now people are ordering burgers, and probably as an alternative to pizzas. I don't think they compare though, as both already have quite a following. My first pizza did taste like burgers, and not in a "junk food is bad" way either.

The story is from the Travel section of The New York Times online edition "In Milan, a Surge of Burger Spots". What caught my attention was that there were working phone numbers of the delivery services openly displayed in the article. It's brilliant and simple. People can just pick up the phone and order burgers when they are hungry.

This awesome, I'm in the states, the hub of burger lovers, and we still don't have burger delivery unless it's for catering. The only delivery we get here is Pizza. So, I guess we are catching up to the Italians.

If you go over the list of burger joints in the article, were you able to figure out if the restaurant had an app for delivery? I believe not all of the burger joints comes with an app.

Interesting!
And they're not kebabs! :D LOL! They're real burgers, the article says. I've actually not seen many burger joints around here, the most famous fast foods are pizza, probably followed by the piadinas.

The only time I used the food delivery system here in Italy was 3 years back, when at times I was simply to lazy to get dressed and go out to get a pizza for myself :P So I had it delivered. They also have piadina delivering services, I see them all the time around town, but burger delivery is indeed something new and quite refreshing, might I add :)

I also love the way they put it: "fast food doesn't have to be junk food if high-quality ingredients are used". This is actually true, but many still live under the impression that all fast food is bad for you. While I agree that what's in our fridge at home is 10 times more fresh and healthy than their tomatoes and potatoes, for instance, that doesn't mean burgers are not still food :)
