Baggage Handlers Arrested At Rome Airport

Recently in the news was reported that 29 baggage handlers at Rome Leonardo da Vinci airport were arrested for stealing Items from passengers checked in luggage.

Apparently they placed hidden cameras in the airplanes cargo holds and caught the thiefs red handed stealing cash, cameras and telephones etc..

Have you ever had anything stolen from your luggage? Does these kind of events make you carry hand luggage only?
 
Oh my God, I cannot believe it, I didn't know about this. What bastards, excuse my anger.
I do travel a lot and I never ever carry important stuff in my baggage, all the important things I travel with are in my small cabin bag. However, I can't even imagine what people must feel like when they don't find their stuff at their arrival.
 
Well, this is why I only put clothes in my luggage. And if I need to carry something else, I put it between the clothes and then I put everything in a sealed bag that vacuums and becomes small.
