I once visited Italy during summer vacation and really loved the way people there welcomed us. If my country welcomed tourists in that manner then we would have made a significant step in the economy. I would like to hear of the experiences of any new person in Italy.

In recent years Italy as got more and more popular as a tourist destination and I think one of the main reasons for that is the welcome that foreign travellers get.

Tourism is a massive industry these days in Italy and so even the Italians that aren't too keen on the influx of tpirsist have grown accustomed to it now.

I also really thought I had a warm welcome as a tourist in Italy for the first time, but to be honest, most places I have travelled have been like that. I think people are aware these days like you said that tourism is a big economy booster, and in order for that industry to grow and thrive you really do need to ensure people feel welcomed.

I do think Italians are big on hospitality and family values which certainly helps with that feeling of being so warmly welcomed.

I've been planning on backpacking through Europe, and Italy is definitely on my list. It is a very romantic country and I am planning on bringing my SO to the most lovely spots, Hopefully we will arrive there during winter time, so it would be cold with the lights on bright.
