I am not that big a fan of wine, for some reason, but I do like having a glass of red with some steak once in a while. What are some good, reasonably priced, Italian wines? Where would I buy some?

I rather like the Italian desert wine "Moscato d'Asti". It's a sweet, sparkling wine that is usually either a white or a rose. I'm not into bitter wines, so I really love it! "Cupcake" makes a good d'Asti, and I believe theirs is actually imported from Italy! It's only like 13 bucks for a bottle and you can find it in any liquor store. :D

Italians are famous for their wine among other culinary dishes. There are so many to pick from at different price ranges. You don't have to break the bank to get a good bottle of Italian wine, because they make it for all classes. I think it is because wine is such a big part of the culture. Where you buy from depends on where you live. Any wine shop or even a local grocery store in the States will have a bottle of Italian Wine. My favorite is a semi-sweet Moscato d'Asti.

Some fair priced ones are Momento Di Vino and Apassionato. Check out this article on Italy's top 25 wines under $25. It's great for picking out some wines.

I am a big fan of Chianti (red wine). There are a lot of different brands and price points for this wine but overall it is one of my favorites! I personally like the Ruffino brand. It can get a little pricy at $20 a bottle but it is definitely a good glass of red wine. It goes great with a nice steak or pasta and sauce. I wouldn’t go too cheap with buying Chianti because I’ve tried a few no name brands that let me with a splitting headache. It didn’t taste that good either.

I'm also not really a fan of wine, but every now and again I like to have a glass with a meal, especially if we're eating out in a restaurant.

Proseco seems to have become quite popular recently here in the UK also, and it seems that in the past couple of years especially, people have been preferring that for a social drink more than a lot of others.
